Co-Ownership Program

WHAT IS CO-OWNERSHIP??  Because we often want to keep certain lines, but don’t have the time and space to keep all the pups that we want to, we like to find good homes to co-own the puppies/dogs.  What this means is that you get a well bred puppy/dog for a GREATLY reduced price and you raise and train the dog and keep it at your house.  We will co-own the dog with you and we will retain the breeding rights.  A female dog will come back here for two litters.  Co-owned homes of female dogs must not have any intact males in their home and must have a fenced in yard.  Males will stay intact till age 5 and will be available for studding from age 2-5 as seen fit.  The dog would come here to have its OFA health clearances done around age 2 and when those were finalized, come back here for breeding.  We would cover costs of OFA testing and any breeding costs.  The co-owner would be responsible for regular veterinary and health maintenance care.  The female dog would come here for breeding and then 1 week prior to her due date to whelp puppies and would stay here through that 8 week process, you’d be allowed to come and visit mom and pups.  Because of this time commitment/entrustment, co-owners of female dogs will be allowed the second pick of a puppy (we get first pick) from one of the 2 litters to keep for yourself, if you desire, or you can receive the price of the puppy.  Essentially you would be getting 2 cavaliers for the reduced price of one, or if you choose to receive the price of a puppy, you would be more than reimbursed. After her final litter you’d spay her and then upon proof of the spaying we’d sign off on the registration to full ownership to you and she’d live out her life with you as your family pet.  For a male, you will neuter at age 5 and we will transfer full ownership to you at that time.  We occasionally like to have the possibility to show the dog at dog shows to champion title them, if the dog meets this criteria we ask that you be amenable to allowing him/her to travel with our handler or ourselves to obtain this title.  If you are interested in showing yourself, we would be happy to help you with that process.  If you co-own a male and champion him with the AKC, you can also receive 2nd pick of a litter or the price of a puppy.  If you obtain his championship title, we will also grant you permission to use him as a stud yourself and wave the neuter agreement.  If you champion a female with the AKC we will also wave the spay agreement and transfer ownership to  you so you may have a breeding of your own after the two litters here.  We ask that anyone interested in joining our co-ownership program live within 50 miles, for a male, and 200 miles, for a female, of Fayetteville, AR and be willing to travel to our home, leaving the dog with us, when breeding opportunities are present.
